Taking Pets from Ukraine


To take your pet from Ukraine you must obtain three certificates:

1) The first certificate must be obtained from the appropriate pet club:

for cats:

National Cat Club "FAUNA"

2) The second certificate must be obtained within 10 days of your departure.
It may be obtained at any veterinary station, such as those listed below.
The cost is approximately $5.

3) The final certificate must be obtained at Boryspil Airport. The veterinary check station is located in Room 211 on the second floor and is open 24 hours a day. A fee of approximately $10 will be charged.

You must present this last certificate to US customs upon arrival in the United States.

Many major airlines now allow passengers to carry on small pets if they are transported in cages that fit under the seat. There is of course an extra charge. If your animal or its cage is too large to fit under an airline seat, then they will be transported in a pressurized section of the baggage area.

CALL YOUR AIRLINE WELL IN ADVANCE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS.
